Trading Glossary
Common acronyms and terms we use when trading
SL - Stop Loss
GTC - Good 'til cancelled
ODTE - 0 days until expiration (expires today)
EOD - End of Day
SS or S/S - Short Sell
E/R - Earnings Report
52s - new 52 week high
B/O - Breakout
Green - price is above prev close
Red - price is below prev close
R/R - risk/reward
Call - a trade that predicts the asset (stock, currency, commodity, etc.) will go up in value
Put - a trade that predicts the asset (stock, currency, commodity, etc.) will go down in value
Short or Shorts - an option that is predicting the asset will go down in value (Put)
Long or Longs - an option that is predicting the asset will go up in value (Call)
Bollinger Band - graphing indicator on charts showing high and low ranges
Scalp - quick option trade, usually minutes, sometimes an hour or two
Day trade - option trade that is bought and sold same day
Swing - option trade held for a few hours to a few days
